CMG Financial's Joe Cabrall Graduates from the CMBA Future Leaders Program
We are proud to recognize Joe Cabrall, Vice President of Corporate Accounts, on his graduation from the CMBA Future Leaders Program. Cabrall graduated from the program in November 2015.
Q: What inspired you to join the program?
A: Simply put, my passion for the business and individual growth is what inspired me to join the program. I saw it as a great opportunity for development in my leadership abilities, as well as a unique way to further expose myself to the mortgage industry.
Q: What is the greatest lesson or skill you took away from the Future Leaders Program?
A: The program encompassed a lot of exciting components. From a leadership development course at Pepperdine, sitting down with Congressmen in Sacramento to discuss our industry needs during Legislative day, to being a part of a committee that organized the entire Western Secondary Conference in San Francisco. There were so many valuable takeaways from this program, but the project we had to present to the California MBAs Board of Directors was probably the most useful lesson. We were put into smaller teams and had to create a business plan for a brand new company in the mortgage industry. It was an eye-opening experience having to collaborate with employees that came from other organizations in our industry.
Q: Did you have a mentor through the program? If so, who and how did they help you?
A: AJ George, Senior Vice President of Correspondent Lending at CMG Financial, pushed me to be a part of this program. Being a former Future Leader himself, he mentored me through the process. He is not only a great friend but a big inspiration to me!
Q: How do you intend to use the Future Leaders Program skills in your career?
A: The leadership portion of the program will continue to help me in my career. I learned a lot of useful exercises and philosophies that I can apply to any future situation. Expanding my knowledge of how our industry works and how other participants operate in it will be vital to my success.
A note from Joe:
“First off, it meant a lot to have CMG Financial support me in my development through California MBA’s Future Leaders Program. It was an incredible experience to be able to partake in a program that taught me so much and helped me create invaluable relationships with colleagues that are as passionate as I am about our industry. I still keep in contact with many of my fellow classmates and it is a huge benefit to have forged such strong connections with other future leaders… The mortgage industry is a relationship business, and these relationships will be sure to pay big dividends in my future!” ~Joe Cabrall
